Bunkmeister was the sale topper in Sunday’s 160-horse Summer Mixed Sale at the Meadowlands, with Burke Racing Stable LLC shelling out $80,000 to purchase the four-year-old son of The Panderosa-Pleasant Thoughts

The eight-time winner, who originally sold for $47,000 at the 2007 Harrisburg Yearling Sale, entered the auction with a lifetime mark of 1:50.4 taken as a three-year-old at Pocono Downs. Bunkmeister has banked more than $197,000 to date.
Joseph Davino was the winning bidder on Anndrovette, who was purchased for $65,000. The three-year-old daughter of Riverboat King-Easy Miss is a multiple stakes-winning filly with close to $80,000 in career earnings. The three-time winner took her 1:55.1 record over Yonkers Raceway’s half-miler earlier this year.
