In wire-to-wire fashion, Village Jamie won the $7,800 feature pace at Georgian Downs on Saturday, August 19.
Going fractions of :28.1, :58.1, and 1:26.2, Village Jamie maintained a length-and-a-quarter lead at the line over even-money favorite Talbot Chanel, who moved first over to take second moving around the final turn. Delightful Space, who tracked Talbot Chanel's cover, got up for third.
A three-year-old filly by Mach Three from the Jennas Beach Boy mare Village Jest, Village Jamie won her first race in 14 starts, earning $32,790 for owner Liam Wallace. Trained by Todd Clements and driven by Paul MacKenzie, she returned $19.60 to win.
