According to a report, developer Mark Vogel has been in negotiations to purchase Rosecroft Raceway and is expected to obtain the Maryland track before it hits the auction block in September

An article on gazette.net explains that former governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., who is running for the job once again, has stated that if he is elected he would resolve the current simulcasting dispute between the track's current owner, Cloverleaf Enterprises, and the state's thoroughbred industry.
Vogel has stated that if he acquires the track he would turn it into a major gaming destination. The report explains that Vogel would purchase the track regardless of whether the simulcasting situation is resolved or not and pay off its debts.
"We got no help from Governor O'Malley. I see it turning around with Governor Ehrlich," Vogel was quoted as saying.
