Saratoga Casino and Raceway will celebrate the culmination of the third annual Joe Gerrity, Jr. Memorial Open Pacing Series on Saturday, August 20
.
The $129,250 final of the series will feature the top-eight point earners from the three preliminary races.
Several notable horses will be going head-to-head in the finals, including Real Nice (PP8), who won the $500,000 George Morton Levy earlier this season. The 2010 Saratoga Casino and Raceway Horse of the Year, Kellys Noah (PP2), will also be in the lineup, as well as Go Go Solano (PP3), who went undefeated in the three preliminary legs of the Gerrity series.
Former U.S. trainer of the year Mark Ford will send out the uncoupled entry of Gallant Yankee (PP5) and Malicious (PP6). This Is Wyatt (PP4), Urgent Action (PP7) and Benns Superman (PP1) will round out the field.
The Memorial Pacing Series was created in 2009 to honour the memory of Joe Gerrity, Jr. and his many contributions.
An additional card highlight for Saturday night is the $78,000 final of the August Fun Trotting Series, which will feature a showdown between Grain Of Truth and Lorenzo Dream.
