After consulting with all parties involved, organizers of the second annual Gamester-Pinkney Cup Memorial Driving Challenge have announced a change in the driving roster for the final to be held Sept. 3 at the Truro Raceway in Bible Hill, N.S.
After preliminary legs were held at the Truro Raceway as well as Red Shores Charlottetown and Summerside, a field of eight drivers will compete in the event named after two fine gentlemen in Byron Gamester of P.E.I. and Phil Pinkney of Nova Scotia. Kyle Mason of Moncton, N.B., won the Pinkney leg in Nova Scotia and the overall defending champion from the 2022 edition will be joined by Zach Mullins of Inverness, N.S., Monica Sutherland of Port Hood, N.S., and Luke Armstrong of Saint John, N.B.
Brady Sweet captured the Gamester leg and the O'Leary driver will compete alongside cousin Jaycob Sweet of O'Leary, Kyle Desroche of Milo and Brett Clow of New Haven, P.E.I.
Hook up fees will be offered to horses not earning a cheque in the final and organizers hope for a strong showing at the entry box to support these up and coming stars.
