With just three weeks remaining in the season, record-setting handle remains strong for the 2020 Clinton Raceway meeting.

Another $57,000 was wagered on the afternoon card, despite some technical difficulties. Clinton Raceway wishes to apologize for untimely connection problems, and ensures its race fans that they are working diligently to get the uplink back to its proper feed for next week.

The fastest mile of the day came in race two when Larjon Leah, left from post position two and won in gate-to-wire style for driver Brett MacDonald in 1:59, defeating Witnessintheshadow by 11-1/4 lengths. Larjon Leah is owned and trained by Larry Lane and comes off of an impressive 1:58.3 win last Sunday in Clinton.

Live harness racing resumes next Sunday (Aug. 23) with a 1:30 p.m. post time. The fifth annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot will be featured on Aug. 30, and the 40th annual Charity Drivers Challenge will take centre stage on the final day of the 2020 season, Sept. 6.
