Fansville picked up her first victory of 2025 at an opportune time, as she was a 1:54 winner in the $238,356 New York Sire Stakes for sophomore pacing fillies at MGM Yonkers Raceway on Friday, Aug. 15.

Driven by Jordan Stratton, Fansville got away in the sixth position while 2-5 favourite The Last Martini (Jason Bartlett) hustled to the front from post three and led through opening-half fractions of :27.3 and :56.2. Second choice Shes A Streaker (Tyler Buter) wheeled out first-over from fifth just past the half, and that gave Fansville cover to follow.

The Last Martini was able to hold off Shes A Streaker to three-quarters in 1:25 and also kept her at bay around the last turn, but Stratton had put Fansville into a three-wide position on the final bend. After she was shown clear racetrack, Fansville was able to pace by both The Last Martini and Shes A Streaker in mid-stretch on her way to a two-length victory over Mrs Cheese (Matt Kakaley), who closed well after she fanned out following a shuffle. Strutsville (Ridge Warren) found room out of the pocket in the lane and checked in third while The Last Martini and Shes A Streaker tired to fourth and fifth, respectively.

A daughter of Huntsville and Caviart Elena, Fansville is trained by Joe Bongiorno and owned by Chain Lightning Stables of Beach Haven, New Jersey. She was bred by Eric Taddeo. A two-time winner in the New York Excelsior Series as a two-year-old, Fansville now has a summary of 3-1-4 from 14 career starts and went over $200,000 in earnings.

Sent postward at odds of 9-1, she paid $21.60 to win and led a $248.50 exacta and an $860 trifecta.

Fashion Terror (Huntsville-High Fashion Model) and Chanceoflightning (Courtly Choice-Admirals Chance) led throughout in winning their respective $27,397 Excelsior Series divisions. Fashion Terror, a 1:55.1 victor in rein to Jason Bartlett, was sent out by Mark Ford for owner/breeder All Star Racing, while Cory Stratton trains the Taddeo-bred Chanceoflightning, a 1:55 winner driven by Jordan Stratton, for owners VIP Internet Stable, Taddeo Sienicki Stables and Stratton Stable.

This was the last visit by the New York Sire Stakes circuit to Yonkers Raceway this year. This year's finals will be held at Batavia Downs on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Yonkers Raceway is currently operating on a Monday/Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday live racing schedule with post time each night at 6:45 p.m.
