Wicked Road went down the road again to take her second straight Prospect Series victory and extend her winning streak to four in Leg 4A of the series for three-year-old pacing fillies at Georgian Downs on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
She was out-left by longshot Century Liberty (Brett MacDonald) off the gate and took a brief tuck in the pocket before moving to the front on the first turn in the second $8,000 division. Wicked Road then cruised unopposed through :29.2, :58.2, and 1:26.2 splits and responded quickly to urging from Anthony Haughan down the stretch, kicking away to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:55. Century Liberty held second, a length clear of Twin B Bodacious (David Edwards).
Wicked Road has led at every call in each of her last four starts. The Meg Crone-trained filly has won five of 10 outings this year after going 0-for-8 at two. Hutt Racing Stable of Malvern, Pa. owns the daughter of Mcwicked-Ashleeswayrhighway, a winner of $31,155.
Justine Ray, dropping down from the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots, took the first Prospect Series division by a head in 1:54.2 with Samuel Fillion at the lines. Francis Guillemette trains the daughter of Shadow Play-Woes Jet Filly for Michel Letendre.
Superior Delight went gate-to-wire to win by 1-1/4 lengths in her Prospect Series debut in the third split for driver Brett MacDonald and trainer Kyle Fellows. The Bettors Delight-Modena Hanover filly completed the mile in 1:54.2 for owners Yolanda Fellows and Hassan Allahmoradi.
