The post position draw for this Saturday's $100,000 Gold Cup & Saucer, presented by Atlantic Lottery, was held on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The posts for the nine-horse field were drawn by the Gold Cup and Saucer Ambassadors while being officiated by the Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission during the Tuesday evening's program.
Save America, the Trial 1 winner and fastest in the eliminations by virtue of his 1:52.1 mile on a sloppy track, will leave from post eight while fellow Jamie Smith stablemate and Trial 3 winner Heaven On High N has drawn post two. Fortify, the Trial 2 winner, will start from post three for trainer Chris MacKay. Defending champion Covered Bridge, trained by Jeff Gillis, has post four.
