Elizabeth Brittingham’s As Bad As Thunder notched his fifth straight win in Monday’s $18,000 Open at Harrington Raceway for driver Bret Brittingham in 1:53.4.

The six-year-old Badlands Hanover gelding has won 11 of 21 races this year and earned more than $123,000. As Bad As Thunder left with purpose from post seven and assumed command from early leader Wind Me Up to an opening quarter mile of :27.4. Driver Bret Brittingham then gave his horse a breather with a half mile in :56.4 and three-quarter time in 1:26 before a sizzling :27.4 last quarter to prevail by two lengths. Wind Me Up held off a game Jeremys Successor for the place position.

Driver George Dennis had three winners on the card. Ross Wolfenden, Allan Davis and Vince Copeland each had driving doubles.
