Heretofore a confirmed closer, Tuesday Morning unveiled a new style Wednesday at The Meadows when she quarter-poled to the top and captured the day’s co-feature, a $10,300 filly & mare conditioned trot.
Tuesday Morning was away fourth from the rail but was on the move early for Dan Rawlings. The five-year-old daughter of Explosive Matter-Taboo Yankee easily thwarted the first-over challenge of Delovely Hall and held off the Lightning Lane thrust of DP Rocket, downing her by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.2. Gimme Shelter completed the ticket.
Ray Romanetti trains Tuesday Morning and owns with Lori Romanetti and Bernadette Luketich.
Something Reel and Swizzle Hanover took Wednesday’s other co-features.
Mike Wilder piloted four winners, including a pair for trainer Dan Altmeyer, on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 12-race program features a $4,343.37 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
