Mach Ten played 'catch me if you can' in the featured $8,500 Open Trot at Batavia Downs Sunday afternoon. Rocky Boy was more than up to the challenge.

Rocky Boy ($14.80) sat in the garden spot behind the pace-setting Mach Ten (Kevin Cummings), who set fractions of :29.3, :59.3 and 1:28.3. But in the drive down the stretch, Rocky Boy slipped to the inside under the encouragement of driver/trainer Jacques Beaudoin and beat Mach Ten by a length and a half. Rocky Boy covered the mile in 1:58.3 over the fast track. Keyodee Star (Jack Rice) finished in third.

The victory was the fifth in 18 starts for Rocky Boy. It also moved his 2013 earnings to $32,044 for owners Marc Belanger and Stephane Beaudoin.
