The win streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for the photogenic pacing mare Keystone Mystique, who had no problem disposing of the seven distaffers she squared off with in Tuesday’s feature tilt at Woodstock Raceway
.
Driver Trevor Henry hustled the four-year-old Camluck-Miss Rose miss to immediate command from post four in the $20,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred, and after slicing out panels of :27.4, :58 and 1:26.4 she finished off her rivals with a 29-second final frame en route to the 1:55.4 decision.
It was a little more than length back to Victim Of Love, who was a determined runner-up considering she did the first-over road work in the final half of the mile. Desire tagged along every step of the way and finished third.
Send off as the 1-5 choice in the eight-mare affair, Keystone Mystique improved her 2009 record to 6-1-2 in 16 starts for trainer Paul Taylor. The mare has banked just over $43,000 this season and $165,346 to date for Glenview Livestock Ltd. of Wallenstein, ON.
