Dreams Beachboy took the $7,000 featured pace on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Vernon Downs.
Dreams Beachboy charged to the front and led the seven horses to a first quarter of :26.2 and maintained his speed through a :54.2 half. Seel The Deal N went first over from third to get within a half length as Dreams Beachboy got to the three-quarter mark in 1:22.2.
Dreams Beachboy, who is owned by Crawford Farms Racing and trained by driver Gates Brunet, had plenty left in the tank as they turned for home. He would breeze in the stretch to win in a seasonal best time of 1:50.3. Nito Glistening came up to claim second. Golden Gun finished third.
Dreams Beachboy is a seven-year-old gelding by Somebeachsomewhere. It was his fourth win in nine starts this season. He now owns 29 victories and paid $8.00 to win.
Howard Parker and John MacDonald each drove three winners on the night. Parker got his wins with Frisky Joe ($3.90), Daliocity ($4.30), and Music Matters ($2.50). MacDonald got his victories with Brookdale Bruiser ($2.10), Down On Mainstreet ($7.20), and Sapient Hanover ($33.40). MacDonald is now just three wins shy of 4,000 victories in his career.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing with a 10-race card on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6:10 p.m.
