Lawyer Howard Taylor, who is a co-owner of Lady Shadow, has announced that his star pacing mare will be entered to race on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit in the near future.

Taylor issued a press release on Wednesday, August 9 which stated that the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has issued a stay of the 90-day rule. On May 28 at Harrah’s Philadelphia, Lady Shadow produced a positive test for Clenbuterol.

In light of the positive, the Meadowlands Racetrack then announced that Lady Shadow would be unable to be entered to contest the August 5 Lady Liberty Stakes at the East Rutherford, New Jersey raceway.

The Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey then announced its support of the connections of Lady Shadow in the situation. One day later, in Bergen County Superior Court, Hon. Robert P. Contillo, P.J.Ch. of the denied an application for emergent injunctive relief filed by the owners of Lady Shadow, seeking to enjoin the Meadowlands from refusing the entry of the mare in the Lady Liberty Stakes on August 5. NMR was represented by Jennifer Borek and Angelo Genova of Genova Burns LLC

In his release, Taylor stated that the connections of Lady Shadow further intend to enter Lady Shadow in the Artiscape at Tioga Downs on August 27. Tioga Downs is owned by Jeff Gural, who also operates racing at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

The contents of Taylor's release appear below.

The owners of Lady Shadow are pleased to announce that the Horse Racing Appeal Panel of the AGCO in Ontario has issued a stay of the 90-day rule such that Lady Shadow will be permitted to race on the WEG circuit effective immediately. It is our intention to enter Lady Shadow in an overnight race at Mohawk next weekend.

It is further our intention to enter Lady Shadow in the Artiscape at Tioga on August 27. While we do recognize that Tioga Downs is owned by Jeff Gural, it is our sincere hope that he will allow this great mare race in light of the Canadian action.

We look forward to watching what we hope will continue to be a successful season. While we did contemplate selling Lady Shadow due to our limited racing opportunities, this is a once in a lifetime mare and we felt that we could not part with her.
