All eyes were on Bettors Dream in Monday's $37,800 Dream Maker Series Final at Mohawk Racetrack to see if he could remain undefeated, and he passed the test with flying colours.

Bettors Dream was a powerhouse winner in the $37,800 Dream Maker Series, and in doing so he improved his lifetime record to win three wins in as many tries for trainer Scott McEneny.

The son of Bettors Delight-Enduring Dream got away fifth for driver Doug McNair while Deadly Action fired to the lead from the outside of the gate and had the field chasing him to the quarter pole in :27.3. McNair had his ticket to victory lane on the move in the backstretch, and together they rocketed to the lead with an impressive-looking rush. They led the field through middle panels of :58 and 1:26.1 before stepping home in :27.3 to win by three lengths over Deadly Action in 1:53.4. Rounding out the top three finishers was Beyond Delight.

McEneny co-owns the precocious pacer with John Fielding and Domenic Chiaravalle. The partners shelled out $45,000 to purchase the youngster from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale. He’s banked $32,900 to date.

Fearless Man manufactured a front-stepping score in this week’s $34,000 Preferred Trot for trainer/driver Rick Zeron. The speedy square gaiter shot to the top from Post 6 and dictated the terms of the tempo by tossing out fractions of :27.3, :56.4 and 1:25.1. Zeron roared at the gelding and he sprinted home in :27.4 to win by nose over the hard-closing Etruscan Hanover. Whiskey Tax was third.

Sent off at odds of 6-1, the six-year-old son of Elegant Man-Lasting Beauty improved this year’s record to 6-3-5 from 19 starts for Rick Zeron Stables, Noblock Racing Stable, Murray Greenfield and Cool Cat Racing Inc. The 28-time winner pushed his earnings over $500,000 with the victory.

The opening leg of the Pure Ivory Series also went postward Monday evening, and the lone $14,000 division went to Dream Together and driver Sylvain Filion in 1:58.2. The daughter of Muscle Hill-Danae got away fourth and sat there through the opening half which was carved out in :29 and :59.4 by the race favourite, The Erm. Filion had his charge out and rolling in the backstretch, and they were just a length away from The Erm at the three-quarter pole in 1:30. The fillies went into sprint mode late and Dream Together’s :28.1 kicker earned her the win by three-quarters of a length over The Erm in 1:58.2. The show dough went to Southwind Tesla.

Luc Blais trains the rookie for Determination of Montreal, QC. The freshman was a $240,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale.

We’ll recap results of the Dream Maker Series once it is completed.
