Three-year-old pacing fillies Wrapped To Go and Thats Extra were victorious in the $10,000 eliminations for the Ralph Klein Breeders Stakes on Saturday at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino.

Wrapped To Go pulled off a 13-1 upset as she rallied home from off the pace to defeat a persistent Fire Watch and 1-5 favourite Blue Star Texas in the first and fastest elimination.

Making just her second start for her new owners Harvey and Ann Jaeger and trainer/driver Jim Marino, Wrapped To Go sprinted her final quarter in :28.3 to close from the backfield for the career-best 1:55.2 triumph. Fire Watch (Travis Cullen) finished three-quarters of a length behind in second after a parked-from-the-start first over trip against pacesetter Blue Star Texas (Philip Giesbrecht) through fractions of :27.2, :57 and 1:25.4. Cam Finish (Keith Clark) finished fourth off a pocket trip after tracking stablemate Blue Star Texas from the pocket.

Wrapped To Go paid $28.30 for the upset victory. After going winless in 12 starts as a freshman, the Cams Card Shark filly has won three of her 14 sophomore starts and now has career earnings totalling $26,616.

Thats Extra delivered on her pari-mutuel promise as the 3-2 favourite in the second elimination for trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt and his partners Blair and Erna Corbeil.

Cheer For Court (Keith Clark) and My Villas On Fire (Jamie Gray) traded turns on the front end through opening panels of :28.3 and :57.3 while Hoerdt sent Thats Extra underway from fifth. Thats Extra rushed by the leaders just past the half-mile mark and opened up a couple of lengths on top as she raced to three-quarters in 1:26. The Allamerican Native filly then cruised home for her second consecutive victory and established a new lifetime mark of 1:56.2 in the process with My Villas On Fire following in second and Beauty Of Nature (Gerry Hudon) closing from last to show. Remember Terror (Jim Marino) finished fourth.

Thats Extra paid $5.10 to win. She has won half of her 10 starts this year while earning the bulk of her $35,793 bankroll.

The $70,000 Ralph Klein Stakes will be contested next Saturday, August 8 at Century Downs.
