M G Home Run romped to his fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday night at Sudbury Downs for driver Jason Ryan and trainer Brittany Robertson.

Ryan and the 1-2 favourite easily grabbed the lead from the inside post position in the fifth race conditioning-claiming event and rolled past fractions of :27.2, :57.1 and 1:26 en route to victory in 1:55.1. Daddy Warbucks and Gerry Belanger edged by pocket-sitter Light Overcast and Justin Turcotte for second-place honours two and a half lengths behind the winner.

The five-year-old Astreos gelding is owned by Tim Blais of Chelmsford, Ont. The victory was his ninth this year in 28 starts and pushed his seasonal earnings to $40,126.

M G Home Run paid $2.90 to win.

Robertson and Ryan also teamed up for a victory two races earlier with Shipp To Morgan ($12.80). The 10-year-old trotting gelding won for the 30th time in his career by more than nine lengths in 1:58.1.
