Perfect weather highlighted Bob McClure Day at Hanover Raceway on Saturday (July 9), as the racetrack and their fans celebrated the accomplishments of a homegrown driver and their current driving champion and did so on behalf of Bruce Grey Mentorship, a local youth non-profit organization.

McClure met with fans, posed for photos and signed swag for fans. The merchandise sales and a silent auction raised more than $5,000 for the organization, making it a fantastic day for the charity.

On the track, two Prospect Series events for three-year-old filly trotters were on the card. Gala Halo ($4.00) prevailed in the first division by a head in 2:02.2 for driver Jonathan Drury, trainer Rick Zeron and Hutt Racing Stable.

The second division went to Say Something ($2.70), a gate-to-wire six-length winner for driver Tyler Borth, trainer Desiree Jones and owner Gino Toscani.

Next week, Hanover Raceway hosts the opening leg of the OLG Ontario Women's Driving Championship on July 16 as nine of Ontario's best female drivers compete in this year's Championship.
