How Deolicious It Is To Win?

Dave DeLuca of Whitehouse, New Jersey is the winner of the Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment’s and Deo Volente Farms’ Name The Filly promotion held on July 8 at the Meadowlands. Deolicious was the winning selection out of 678 entries in the contest.

The filly, bred by Deo Volente Farms, is from the great sire Mach Three and out of the dam World Of Her Own. Mach Three, who passed away in January of this year, was the winner of the 2002 Meadowlands Pace and had total career earnings over $2.3 million. World Of Her Own is the daughter of the two-time Dan Patch Award winner Worldly Beauty.

With his winning submission, DeLuca won $500 and will receive one percent of Deolicious’ two and three-year-old earnings courtesy of Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment.

“I know how tough it is to make it to the racetrack,” DeLuca said during his post-win interview. “I just hope I get to see this little filly on the track in a couple of years.”

Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment would like to thank everyone who came out to the track to submit a name, as well as Deo Volente Farms for their efforts in making this year's contest a huge success.
