Red Hot Scandal Earns New Mark

Red Hot Scandal saved all the ground, then fired through the Lightning Lane to capture Saturday’s $22,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows in a sharp 1:50.4, lowering his lifetime mark

a full second.

Red Hot Scandal and trainer-driver Brian Zendt were content to sit third behind Biletnikoff and Here We Go Again, who were strong enough to repel the outside challengers. When Here We Go Again tried to pass Biletnikoff outside in the lane, Red Hot Scandal shot through inside. The five-year-old Real Artist-Scandalize gelding negotiated the back half in 54.3 en route to his half-length victory over Biletnikoff while Here We Go Again saved show.

Dunn Stable bred and owns Red Hot Scandal, who extended his career bankroll to $218,756.
