Theron Seelster posted a double-digit win margin as she ran away on a field of six others to win the $4,500 Preferred 3 Pace for fillies and mares on Sunday afternoon at Sudbury Downs.
With Gerry Belanger in the sulky, the five-year-old Camluck mare romped to a 10 length victory in 1:58 flat to give Rockwood, Ont. trainer/owner Kyle Reibling a Sunday double.
The 5-1 fourth choice in the wagering paid $12.40 to win. Sent postward as the longest shot on the board at 31-1, Dez Cheryl and David Dowling finished second while favourite Pathmarks and four-time Sunday winner Justin Turcotte completed the top three.
The win was Theron Seelster's second in 16 seasonal starts.
Reibeling's other winner posted the biggest upset on the nine-race card. Mike Noble guided sophomore filly Stryking Dove to a 28-1 shocker in the finale, winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.4 over favourite Stable Eyes and Belanger. She returned $58.90 to her backers.
