Sportsline Rebounds In Preferred

Sportsline took one on the chin and finished up the track in last week’s edition of the Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap for horse and gelding pacers at Grand River Raceway, but this week was a totally different story for the OSS graduate.

Bruce Richardson put the pedal to the metal with Sportsline in Monday’s main event at the Elora half-miler, and the pacer went the distance for trainer Bud Sinclair.

Leading through fractions of :27.4, :57 and 1:25.3, the five-year-old son of Sportswriter-Angel In Disguise then kicked home in :28.2 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Carsons Shadow in 1:54. Taking home third prize was Shades Of Bay.

Lisa Desroches and Craig Parrott share ownership on the 23-time winner. The victory lifted his lifetime earnings to $210,889.
