Astor, owned by Foxyhall Racing Stable, kicked into gear down the backstretch to take over command of the race and stormed home in 1:55.4 to win the Sunday afternoon feature at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes trains and drives the winner of the $2,200 Preferred event. Artist List closed hard from the backfield to finish second, nearly seven lengths behind, with Ultimate Luck third. The 7-5-3 triactor paid $618.25.
The back-up class went to Tempo Seelster and Vince Poulton in 1:57.3. The son of Santanna Blue Chip notched his third win of the campaign. Painted Pony and All Out finished second and third.
Three-year-old filly Osprey Impact, owned and driven Paul Larrabee, broke her maiden in the trot class in 2:02.1. Tymal Tyme finished second with Howmacs Pride third. The 1-5-4 triactor paid $199.10.
Brodie MacPhee and Ron Matheson had driving doubles on the afternoon.
The total wager was $23,093.
