Rick Karper has been appointed to Standardbred Canada's Board of Directors to replace Guy Talbot as Active Director for the province of Quebec
.
Karper will be serving Talbot's unexpired term, which will run through 2010.
Karper, who is currently vice president of the Association Trot et Amble du Quebec (ATAQ), was previously on the SC Audit & Governance Committee for four years. He is a trained engineer and has enjoyed a successful career as a businessman in the trucking industry. His love for the standardbred racing industry has spanned five decades.
"I'm honoured to be appointed to the board," Karper told Trot Insider. "I've been involved in the industry in many different capacities over the years. Things are tough in this industry right now -- particularly in Quebec -- but I look forward to tackling the existing issues head on."
