Jordy N made an authoritative sweep to the lead in the second quarter and kept a strong tempo to win the $30,000 conditioned pacing feature in a career-best 1:48.3 at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, July 4.
J.R. Plante kept the gelding back of the early leavers and floated him three-wide into the first turn. The only horse left without a seat at the quarter in :26.2, Jordy N marched from seventh at the first station to grab the lead from favoured Remember The Alamo (Tyler Borth) passing the half in :54.1. Jabberwocky (Trevor Henry) soon pressured the new leader with a first-over move, forcing Jordy N to maintain his sharp pace to three-quarters in 1:21.4. It was down to those two in the stretch drive, and Jordy N stymied Jabberwocky with a :26.4 closing panel to reach the line in front by 1-3/4 lengths. Helluva N (Travis Cullen) finished third.
Jordy N recorded win number three this year in 21 starts for trainer Jacques Dupont and owner Ecurie CSL of Sorel-Tracy, Que. The nine-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Flyover is now 12-for-136 lifetime with $225,000 in earnings. He returned $19.80 at the mutuels.
Dalton Shard N ($8.10) won the $30,000 Pop-Up Series Final in the nightly finale with an uncovered move into the final turn that carried him to a 1:48.4 victory for driver Jason Ryan and trainer Francis Guillemette. The series was for pacing horses and geldings that had started for a purse of $12,000 or less in their prior four starts or had averaged less than $2,000 per start in 2025-2026. Horses with earnings of more than $50,000 this year were ineligible.
