Michael Hennessy went to the front and didn’t look back en route to a two-length triumph with Cool Cowboy in Monday’s $10,000 Open Pace at Century Downs.

Cool Cowboy shot to the top from Post 6 and whacked out panels of :28, :56.4 and 1:25.1 before rocketing home in :28 to win handily over race favourite Da Magician in 1:53.1. Taking home the show dough was Read The Proposal.

The five-year-old son of Brandons Cowboy-Cool Grin, who hails from the barn of trainer Kelly Hoerdt, is owned by Hoerdt, Blair Corbeil and Witsend Consulting Inc. It was his sixth win of the year and the 19th of his career. He’s banked more than $260,000 to date.
