Surrealist Wins Inverness Invitational

Veteran pacer Surrealist went from last to first to defeat his younger rivals in the $2,000 Johnny & Margaret Allan Ian Pace on Sunday afternoon (July 31) at Inverness Raceway.

Surrealist trailed through the first half-mile before moving underway and circling the field that was scratched down to five starters. The 10-year-old gelding tracked down the pacesetting Euchred for the one and a quarter length victory in 1:56.3 while Our Star finished third.

Redmond Doucet engineered the winning trip aboard the son of Modern Art for trainer Richard Mullins and owner Dana Getto of New Waterford, N.S. Surrealist now has six wins from 14 starts on his seasonal record and a total of 41 victories to his credit lifetime.
