Outlaw Spider has been a force to be reckoned with on the Manitoba circuit since arriving on the scene from Alberta in May, and on Sunday afternoon he captured the top pacing event at Killarney

.

The son of Freedoms Pass-Slick Sensation advanced first over from third to win the $2,400 Open Pace by two and a half lengths in 2:00.1. Outlaw Spider has won all but one of his Manitoba starts for trainer James Jeffers and owner Bev Huys of Deloraine, MB. His only loss came in last week’s Open at Miami, which was won by this week’s runner-up, Drumheller (Greg Manning). Three-year-old stakes winner My Friend Don (Darryl Mason) was third.

Dallas McGee drove the five-year-old gelding to his fifth win in 16 seasonal starts and eighth lifetime.

Earlier on the card, Roland Rey’s Exit Now went wire-to-wire to break his maiden in 2:05.2 in the $1,800 Betty Grundy Memorial Pace. The three-year-old colt, who has earned two fourth place finishes in MSSBA stakes action, is a homebred son of Abbatom out of Elegance In Motion.
