After failing to hit the board in the opening legs of the Thunder Trot Claiming Series, Aforgottendynasty stepped up to the plate and hit a home run in the $15,700 series final on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs

Sent postward as the 8-1 fifth choice in the field, Aforgottendynasty and trainer-driver Gerry Belanger left from the inside post position and secured a two-length lead by the :29.1 first quarter. Advancing first up from third, Kangamangus (Pascal Berube) and got within a half-length of the leader as they raced past the half in 1:00.1 but Aforgottendynasty turned back that rival and continued on to three-quarters in 1:30.3. He held off the pocket-sitting Zorgwijk Freedom (Jason Ryan) in the stretch to win in 2:01.1 by three-quarters of a length. Stonebridge Royal (Allan Hohner) completed the triactor.
Aforgottendynasty picked up his first time in 16 starts this year and more than doubled his earnings, which stand at $14,126 after tonight's victory. The seven-year-old son of Mr Lavec-Pattis Duchess is owned by Belanger Racing Stables of Barrie, ON.
