Stormont Garcon Set To Sweep 'Majestic' Series

With Ted McDonald at the lines, Stormont Garcon established command of the field early on after leaving from Post 2. The heavy favourite was on top by the first quarter in :29.1 and was able to steal a second quarter breather posting the half in 1:01.1. The Stormont Bronze-Samata colt then passed three-quarters in 1:31 before drawing away by three and a quarter lengths for the victory in 2:00.4.

Trinity Betty (Mitchell Sahely) and Rea Bayama (Yves Filion) finished second and third.

Trained by Jon MacMillan for owner Eric Baker of Long Sault, Ont., Stormont Garcon in now six-for-six in his freshman season with $20,700 earned and will look to sweep the $25,000 (added) series final on Sunday, August 9.
