It has been reported that a sale for Fort Erie's historic thoroughbred facility is expected to be completed as soon as this week.

Word of the reported sale comes courtesy of Bullet News which has run an article that states that a deal with an unnamed buyers based out of Buffalo, New York have been in the works for three years.

Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium Chief Executive Officer Jim Thibert has stated that the lease deal his organization has with the track’s current owner, Nordic Gaming, will be transferred to the new owners when the deal is complete.

Thibert has stated that his organization is “looking forward to working with these new landlords and investors,” adding that the land and property transaction “does not affect the operations of FELRC or the Fort Erie Race Track.”

Thibert has stated that a press conference regarding the issue will be held once the deal is official.

Thibert went on to say that “everybody anticipates it closing in the next day or two.”
