Truro Raceway will host four divisions of two-year-old pacing fillies as they make their career debuts in the Atlantic Sires Stakes (ATSS) on Friday night, July 5.

Two compact fields of 'A' division fillies will go behind the gate in Races 7 and 8, each for a purse of $12,520. Race 7 has the Melissa Rennie-trained Woodmere Honeymoon leaving from post two for driver Adam Merner as the 5-2 morning line favourite. Woodmere Flojo (Corey MacPherson) from the Jamie Smith stable and the Earl Watts trainee Saulsbrook Inferno (Marc Campbell) round out the top three contenders.

Race 8 has race Pandemonic as the early favourite from the inside post for the driving and training team of Myles Heffernan Sr. and Myles Heffernan Jr. The Watts-trained Starship Laska (Campbell) and Saltwater Swinger, for trainer/driver Mike McGuigan, are also top contenders.

Two 'B' divisions vying for purses of $6,000 will go to post as Races 5 and 6.

Two-year-old trotters will make their career debuts in Races 1 and 2. Stallion E L Rocket is the sire 10 of the 11 two-year-olds in the two $12,520 divisions, headlined by the McGuigan-trained and reined fillies Supreme Rocket, from post four in the first, and Oceanview Nikki, from post one in the second.

Three-year-old trotters will race for purses of $12,480 in Races 3 and 4. Last year's two-year-old standouts Dusty Lane Wee (Marc Campbell) for trainer Leonard Myers and Carl Bagnall's Rocket Blast (Corey MacPherson) will meet up in Race 4, drawing side-by-side in posts five and six, respectively. McGuigan will send out the favourite in the other division, Gettin Lit, from post three.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division and trot event go towards securing a coveted spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships.
