In The Clear rallied to take the $6,000 featured pace at Vernon Downs on Saturday, July 29.
The favourite Dreams Beachboy took the early lead and hit the first quarter in :26.0. Big Game pressured the pace, forcing a :53.3 half. With Dreams Beachboy losing stride and Big Game tiring, Skip Jive claimed the lead at three-quarters in 1:22.0. In The Clear, sitting second turning for home, paced by Skip Jive and held the lead to win by a quarter length in 1:51.1, a lifetime best. Tundra closed for second, and Skip Jive finished third.
In The Clear is owned by Victor Finocchiaro, trained by Jordan Hope, and was driven by Chris Lems. This was his fifth win of the season and 17th win of his career.
In The Clear, paying $8.90 to win, won for the fifth time this season and winning for the 17th time in his career with a lifetime best of 1:51.1.
