Osceola cruised to victory in a career-best effort in the $36,000 Preferred Trot, which highlighted the Monday, July 28 card at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Meanwhile, Greenarrow Hanover was on the mark as he delivered a 13-1 shocker in the $20,000 second leg of the Millard Farms Trotting Series.

Scratched down to a field of five with Gaines Hanover out sick, Osceola and Doug McNair moved over one spot on the gate to leave from post four as the 4-5 favourite in the Preferred. Osceola flashed his speed early, grabbing command of the quintet quickly with a :26.4 first quarter. With Quebec Hanover (Tyler Borth) in the pocket, Osceola led to the half in :55.2 before blitzing clear by 2-3/4 lengths at three-quarters in 1:23.2.

McNair kicked out the plugs and the lead grew for Osceola, opening up by more than five lengths midway through the lane while Sid The Kid (Trevor Henry) began to rally into second. Sid The Kid continued to close but Osceola was a wrapped up winner, coasting to the wire 2-1/2 lengths in front to stop the clock in 1:51.1. Fashion Frenzie (Louis-Philippe Roy) got up for the show position.

Trained by Gregg McNair, Osceola has won four of 12 starts now in five-year-old campaign. The son of Muscle Mass-Armbro Exquisite has won 14 of 52 races lifetime, banking $714,202 in his career for owners Gregg McNair, Willow Oak Racing and Paul Hawman.

While Gaines Hanover was scratched sick from the Preferred, his two-year-old half-brother, Greenarrow Hanover, took up the mantle by teaming up with Bob McClure for a 13-1 shocker in the $20,000 second leg of the Millard Farms Trotting Series from post 10.

Greenarrow Hanover made quick work of the outside starting spot, crossing over to the lead to a quarter of :28.3 while Tymal Starstruck (Doug McNair) raced to his outside. Tymal Starstruck cleared to the lead before 1-2 favourite Captain Code (Louis-Philippe Roy) charged to the top at the half in :57.2. Tymal Starstruck jumped it off moving into the final turn, allowing the first-over Classified (James MacDonald) to take over the pocket and Greenarrow Hanover to tip off the cones from third to take aim at Captain Code at three-quarters in 1:26.1.

Greenarrow Hanover moved into second in the stretch while Captain Code began to drift well off the cones. Shooting up his inside, Greenarrow Hanover trotted home in :28.4 to get the better of Captain Code by three parts of a length in 1:55.4. Ice Pack (Jody Jamieson) finished third, 7-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

After finishing second in his career debut, Greenarrow Hanover broke his maiden in start number two for trainer Shawn Steacy. The son of Greenshoe-Gatka Hanover is owned by Mark Steacy, David Reid and Bertrand Gilhespy Stable and has now made $14,000 lifetime.

In addition to the Preferred and Millard Farms, the 10-race card included a $25,000 Pop-Up Series final for trotters who are non-winners of $25,000 in 2025 through at least 10 starts. What About Elmo (James MacDonald, $4.70) rallied from the backfield to score in 1:53.4 for trainer Paul Reid.
