Crisp Mane powered to the lead near the quarter and rolled to a facile victory in Wednesday’s feature at The Meadows, a $12,100 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.
The 2-5 favourite, Crisp Mane had been competing successfully in Open Handicap events at MGM Northfield, and the class relief was evident. The five-year-old daughter of Sportswriter-Designated Leader jogged for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. in 1:52.1, 3-1/4 lengths better than All Day Sunshine, with Something Reel third.
Ron Burke trains Crisp Mane, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $257,860, for Sylvia Burke.
Mike Wilder piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the program features the Edward M. Ryan, a $54,000 Arden Downs Grand Circuit Stake for freshman filly trotters. First post is 12:45 p.m. (EDT).
