A reminder regarding Yonkers Raceway’s matinee sojourn this Sunday (July 30), with a 11:30 a.m. Eastern first post. It’s the third of eight consecutive Sundays.
It’s a dozen-race card, with races five (post time 12:50 p.m.) through eight (2:20 p.m.) of the “French” theme, as in overflow fields at the mile-and-one-quarter distance. The $68,000 Open Handicap goes as the fifth race, with last week’s blowout winner Homicide Hunter (Brian Sears, post eight) leading a 12-horse ensemble.
August Sunday post times are tentatively listed at 12:30 p.m. (updates if/when necessary).
The “New York, New York Double” is also back this Sunday, including Saratoga’s third race (post time 2:07 p.m.) and Yonkers’ tenth race (post time 3 p.m.).
