Erwin Andrew Trotting Series Kicks Off

Honeymoonisover captured the fastest $3,000 split of the Erwin Andrew Memorial Series for aged trotting mares on Sunday at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Brian Andrew engineered the 2:03.1 winning trip aboard the four-year-old mare in the first division of the series named in honour of his father. He also co-owns Honeymoonisover with trainer Blake Andrew. J K Queen (Walter Cheverie) was second with Delta Dental (Ron Gass) third.

The second division was won by Real Housewife in 2:03.4 for driver Brian MacPhee, trainer Danny Romo and owner Grayland Farms of Pugwash, N.S. Second went to Who Took That (Mike McGuigan) while the show spot was filled by Incredible Her Bee (Lenny Myers).

The Erwin Andrew Memorial Series continues in Charlottetown with leg two on August 10 and the rich final will take place on Gold Cup and Saucer night, August 17.

The $1,850 Summerside feature was won by Creighton Hanover (Mark Bradley) in a 1:57.3 length-and-a-half victory over Unstoppable Speed (Mike McGuigan) and Bet The House (Corey MacPherson). Creighton Hanover is owned by Walter Simmons of Summerside and trained by Willis Silliker.
