It’s now 59 victories and counting for the double millionaire Escape The Wind, who made the most of a rare trip away from the WEG circuit on Tuesday evening

for trainer/driver Roger Mayotte.

The 10-year-old son of Artiscape, who was making just his second start off the shelf following a short layoff, had little problem disposing of the five foes he faced in the $14,000 featured event.

Mayotte hustled Escape The Wind to immediate command from post five, and the classy gelding ripped through fractions of :26.4, :56.1 and 1:24.1 before finishing off his foes with a :28-second final frame en route to the 1:52.1 decision. Race favourite Rave On was a length in arrears, and rounding out the top three was Easy Livin Smiley.

The victory was the fourth of the season for Escape The Wind, who is owned by the Venture 2000 Stable of Mississauga, ON. With 211 career starts now under his belt, the pacer has managed to put together a 59-24-27 record while banking $2,095,844 along the way.
