Another Preferred Victory For Rush Rules

Rush Rules didn’t disappoint his backers on Wednesday night as he took the top prize in Sudbury Downs’ $11,000 Not Listed Preferred Pace for the second consecutive time

Driver Aaron Byron worked out the winning second over trip for Rush Rules, who stopped the clock in 1:57.1. The six-year-old son of Scooter Scott-Sf Cavalier won by a length and a quarter over (Pascal Berube) while Thomson Seelster (Gerry Belanger) rounded out the top three. Pan Larceny (Gerry Belanger) carved out all the fractions - :29.1, :59.3, 1:28.1 - before finishing fourth.

The Mike Sinclair-trained Rush Rules notched his fifth win in nine outings this year and lifted his earnings to $29,340 in the process. Guy Beaulieu of Chelmsford, Rosemary Shelswell of Cookstown, ON and breeder Robert Truman of Harbor Springs, Michigan share ownership of the bay gelding, who has won 24 races lifetime and $157,350 in purses.

Rush Rules paid $8.80 to win as the 3-1 co-favourite with breaker Mr Coolie (Mike MacNeill).
