It didn’t prove to be much of a battle in Tuesday’s $37,400 final of the Oxford County Series for filly and mare pacers at Woodstock Raceway thanks to an eye-catching performance from Outofthefryingpan, who romped away

to win by more than nine lengths for partners Meg Crone and Anthony Haughan of Cambridge, Ontario.

The three-year-old daughter of No Pan Intended-Ma Belle Hall, who was perfect in the two preliminary legs of the series, laid down splits of :28.2, :58.3 and 1:27.4 before cranking out :28.3 closing speed en route to notching the career-best clocking of 1:56.2. It was a three-dollar cab ride back to runner-up Takemybreathaway, with Eagle Summer a distant third.

Outofthefryingpan, who made a single start as a rookie for former trainer Bob McIntosh, has really flourished in her sophomore campaign for trainer Crone. The filly now sports a 7-3-2 record in 17 tries, and has banked $63,565 along the way.

In other Tuesday action at the half-miler, Keystone Mystique front-stepped to a flashy win in the $20,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace for driver Trevor Henry. The Paul Taylor pupil carved out splits of :28.1, :58.3 and 1:27.2 before punching out a :29-second final frame for the 1:56.2 victory. Race favourite Victim Of Love, who finished second, saw her rally fall three-quarters-of-a-length short. Shami Cami was a bang-up third.

Glenview Livestock Ltd. of Wallenstein, ON owns the four-year-old daughter of Camluck-Miss Rose. She is 5-for-15 this season following the winning effort, and the lion’s share of the purse helped her overall bankroll swell to $155,346.

It was a big day at the office for driver Brad Forward, who made five trips to victory lane on the 12-race card.

He won with Strikingimpression (2:01.4), Designer Dreams (1:59.1), Power Outage (1:58.2), You Raise Me Up (1:58.2) and Solid Impact (2:01.4). In doing so, he pushed his 2009 win total to 296. He has banked more than $2 million in earnings this year, and more than $20 million to date.
