Trustworthy Kid followed the cover of Ladys Dude, then blew by in the lane to capture Monday’s $16,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Trainer Walter “Boots” Dunn equipped Trustworthy Kid with blinkers for the race, and Dunn Stable’s homebred had little trouble with focus. He scored in 1:53.3 for Brian Zendt, 2-1/4 lengths better than 37-1 long shot Cantab Lindy, while Ladys Dude saved show.
The six-year-old SJs Caviar-Penn Worthy Lane gelding extended his career bankroll to $290,136.
Mike Wilder and Zendt each piloted three winners on the 14-race card.
Tuesday’s live program at The Meadows, which begins at 12:55 p.m, will be preceded at 12:30 p.m. by the draw for post positions for Saturday’s $400,000 final of the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids Presented by Coors Light. The draw can be seen on Meadows Live!
