The first loss of the season for Lucky Jim combined with a dazzling win by Well Said was enough reason for voters in this week’s edition of the Hambletonian/Breeders

Crown Standardbred Poll to pledge allegiance to the Steve Elliott-trained wonder horse.

Well Said, already the winner of the $1.5-million Pepsi North America Cup and the $1-million Meadowlands Pace, cruised to an easy victory last Friday at The Meadows in his elimination of this year’s Adios Stake. The son of Western Hanover-Must See stopped the clock in 1:49 for driver Ron Pierce.

The colt, who is owned by Jeffrey Snyder of New York, NY and Lothlorien of Cheltenham, ON, has won six of seven starts this season while banking in excess of $1.3 million. He has banked more than $1.9 million to date.
