Junebugs Baby came from off-the-pace to defeat local favourite Schooner in the $2,500 Johnny & Margaret Allan Ian Memorial on Sunday at Inverness Raceway.
Junebugs Baby overtook Schooner in the stretch and drew off by three and three-quarter lengths to win the featured finale in 1:57.3. Surrealist rounded out the top three finishers.
The homebred son of Western Paradise now has three wins in five starts this year and 32 lifetime for trainer/driver Fraser Turnbull of Dominion, N.S. and co-owner John Turnbull Jr. of Glace Bay, N.S.
