A pair of $20,000 divisions of the In Free Trotting Series went postward on Monday evening at Mohawk Racetrack for two-year-old fillies, and Paul MacDonell mapped out the trips for the divisional winners

.

As Yall Like It drew first blood when she rallied to win in 1:58 for trainer John Bax. The daughter of Yankee Glide-Almond Joy sat the pocket behind Quantum Victoria (Karen Carroll) through fractions of :28.3, :59.1 and 1:29 before going on the offensive. A :28.3 final frame was just enough for As Yall Like It to post the half-length score over a hard-closing Martiniontherocks (Sylvain Filion). Quantum Victoria was a bang-up third.

Glengate Farms, Parkhill Stud Farm, Karen Debnam and Don Allensen share ownership on the maiden-breaking winner, who was a $50,000 purchase from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale.

Miss Janine was awarded the victory in the second division after the O.R.C. Judges took down the number of the eventual winner, Quantum Glidingby (Steve Byron), after that filly went inside more than three consecutive pylons while on the lead nearing the half.

Quantum Glidingby led past the opening quarter in a :30-second clip before veering inside a number of pylons on the way to the half. Dancin Darlin (Jack Moiseyev) took over command at that point and led the group through middle splits of :59.4 and 1:30.1 before self-destructing in the stretch. Quantum Glidingby rallied to the lead and drew clear to win by more than a pair of lengths over Miss Janine, who was later awarded the victory when the O.R.C. Judges placed Quantum Glidingby back to tenth for the pylon rule violation. Savanah Dream (Scott Zeron) was third-placed-second and Impish Playmate (Dustin Jones) was fourth-placed-third.

Mike Keeling trains the daughter of Angus Hall-Miss Michelle H for P C Wellwood Enterprises Inc, Paul MacDonell Racing Stb and Charles Armstrong. The mile was clocked in 2:00.2, but because Miss Janine was 2-1/2 lengths back under the finish line she earned a speed badge of 2:00.4. She was a $72,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale.

The $50,000 final of the In Free Trotting Series will be contested this Sunday evening at Mohawk Racetrack. The Campbellville, ON oval will host a special evening program that night with first race post time set for 7:30 p.m.
