A pair of $15,020 Atlantic Sires Stakes "A" divisions for two-year-old pacing fillies went to the gate on Wednesday evening, July 24 at Inverness Raceway with Woodmere Flojo winning as the swiftest of the two divisions.

Adam Merner had the Jamie Smith student on the engine early, leaving from the rail, but the pair retreated to the pocket trip behind Sandras Prettygirl (Redmond Doucet) through the opening panel in :29.4. Ruthless Diva (Brodie MacPhee) pulled first over and took control of the timer at the half in :59.2, continuing on to the three-quarters in 1:29.4. With a miscue by Sandras Prettygirl around the three-quarters, Woodmere Flojo moved into second. She battled against the leader in the final turn and succeeded in achieving open track ahead. Brushing off a late charge from Saulsbrook Inferno (David Dowling), Woodmere Flojo succeeded by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.4. Saulsbrook Inferno had to settle for second and Ruthless Diva grabbed third.

Woodmere Flojo (Arthur Blue Chip - Persistent) is a two-year-old owned by Gowiththeflo Racing. She won her first race, moving her record to 1-1-1 in three starts with $12,829 earned. She returned $6.60 to win as the second choice at 2-1 odds.

Muchtooyoungforyou was not much too young to take the second "A" division, winning gate-to-wire with David Dowling holding the lines for Earl Watts.

Dowling pointed the filly forward and she responded with fractions in :31.1, 1:02.2 and 1:33. Jafetica (Myles Heffernan) pulled the pocket late, but was bested for the win at the wire in 2:02.4. Tobins Dream (Rodney Gillis) rounded out the top three.

Muchtooyoungforyou (Flameproof Hanover - Troxel Hanover) earned her first career win in two starts for owners Windemere Farms, River Valley Management and Matt Burke. After a second-place finish in her first start at Summerside Raceway, the filly went to the gate as the 2-1 second choice and returned $6.40 to her backers.

The sole $6,000 ATSS "B" division was taken by Windemere Fluster ($37.60), who heavily upset the field of six at 18-1 odds, the longest shot on the board, with David Dowling driving. The Earl Watts student bested her stablemate by 1-3/4 lengths in 2:01.4.

Two-year-old pacing fillies will reconvene for the ATSS on Aug. 3 at Northside Downs.

Euchred ($6.30) won the $2,000 Winners Over Pace using a gate-to-wire trip to victory by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:57.4 with trainer Walter Walker in the bike. Kayla Habicht Walker owns the 12-year-old Shadow Play - Tipsy Taters gelding, who recorded his 83rd career triumph. He boasts $167,777 in career earnings.
