Fresh off of her win in the $194,400 Mistletoe Shalee at The Meadowlands, O’Brien Award finalist Reflect With Me took her show on the road to Hoosier Park and came away victorious in the $100,000 Nadia Lobell.
Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, Reflect With Me settled into an early two-hole position for driver Andrew McCarthy who watched Priceless shoot to the early lead. It was Priceless who served up first-half fractions of :26.2 and :55 before being pressed by the first-over Lady Lou to the three-quarter pole in 1:21.4.
That massive third quarter battle softened up Priceless just enough for Reflect With Me, who pulled the pocket in the lane and used a :26.1 closing quarter to win by a half-length margin over a dead game Priceless in a track record time of 1:48.2. Genie Rockwell took home the show dough.
“I respect Priceless a lot and knew we wanted to stay close to her,” McCarthy noted after the victory. “I was hoping for room in the stretch. This filly is so speedy; she’ll sit you back in your seat when you ask her to go.”
“She’s got extreme speed,” he continued. “She just wants to win.”
Reflect With Me destroyed the previous track record of 1:49.4 for three-year-old pacing fillies at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, established a new lifetime mark and also recorded the season’s fastest time for a three-year-old pacing filly with the win. The mile also marked the second consecutive night a national season’s record was established at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
