Dismissed at odds of 10-1, EZ Passer used the ‘lightning lane’ to perfection to pull off the upset in the Wednesday (July 24) feature at the Meadows, an $11,500 Filly & Mare Conditioned Trot.
Northern Lightning led the field through the 1:25.1 three-quarters, But Chris Shaw and EZ Passer lurked in the pocket and waited to flash some ‘lightning’ off their own. The five-year-old daughter of Crazed-Musclegrad easily overtook Northern Lightning and scored in 1:54.4, which was one length better than Joplin. Golden Muscle completed the ticket.
