Hanover Raceway is set to host three eliminations for the $70,000 (estimated) Dream of Glory Trot Saturday night. Twenty of the top Ontario Sires Stakes eligible three-year-old trotters were entered and will try to qualify for the stakes final on August 3.
The first elimination has been carded as race three on the Hanover program and features Canadian Breeders Championship finalist Enough About You for trainer Carmen Auciello. The son of Mutineer is a three-time winner in 16 lifetime starts, including a 2-3-1 record in his three-year-old campaign. The OSS Gold Series competitor has the fastest lifetime mark of any horse competing in the Dream of Glory eliminations on Saturday night as he stopped the clock in 1:54.2 at Mohawk Racetrack on June 13 in an overnight event. Enough About You has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favourite over recent OSS Grassroots winner Muscle On Broadway with Travis Henry taking the reins.
Elimination number two will go as race six and another Canadian Breeders Championship finalist headlines the seven-horse field. El Diablo Rojo is the 2-1 morning line choice for trainer Mike Bishop and catch-driver Bruce Richardson. The Striking Sahbra gelding is still looking for his maiden-breaking win, but has the talent to be a factor in his heat.
Race nine is the third and final elimination and it features recent OSS Grassroots division winner Olly Warrawee. The Kadabra gelding heads postward for leading Canadian trainer Richard Moreau and will have Richardson in the sulky. Unraced as a two-year-old, Olly Warrawee is coming in off two strong performances in OSS starts.
The post position draw for the Dream of Glory Trot will take place live in the Hanover Raceway winner’s circle after the completion of the eliminations. Saturday night Hanover Raceway also plays host to the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club, with special prize draws, fan club swag and much, much more. Post time for the 11-race card is 7:30 p.m.
