Shane Forward had a big afternoon at St. John’s Racing and Entertainment Centre winning half of the races on the program including the featured $790 Preferred Pace with Machthemoment

In the afternoon's eighth and final race, Forward made the lead with Machthemoment after the :28.2 opening quarter and never looked back through fractions of :59.4 and 1:30.3 to score in 2:03.3. U S Charmeleon and Le Moras Big Guy finished over two lengths behind. Trained by Rob Forward for owners Jeanette Newell and Justin Newell, Machthemoment recorded his second win in four seasonal starts at the Preferred level.
Shane Forward, the leading driver at the Goulds, Newfoundland racetrack, also recorded wins with Victors Passion, Toronto Road and Even Winds Obey.
Bob Forward Jr. recorded his 250th driving victory in the opening race as he guided his own pupil Ragan Hanover to victory.
Other winners on the program included See Sheila, driven by Frankie Joyce, Backriver Breeze for driver Terry Williams, and Abs Yankees Rail with Kevin McDonald in the bike.
Racing resumes next Sunday afternoon with post time set for 2 p.m.
